One-hour walk!!

Woohoooozeeeeeeeeee!! We had such a nice long walk today! Mommy didn't have to work coz it is Good Friday. A very good day indeed! Wurrfff!!

Mommy slept till 3pm! Lazy bones!! Then she brought us down to the hawker centre where she got lunch takeaway. Everyone was hanging around there today, all the old folks. They gawked at us as usual, like they've never seen three beautiful JRTs out on a walk before. Hahahaaa. Well, I'm glad we put a smile on the old folks' faces. The other coffee lady came up to ask Mommy about whether she could buy one of the puppies from us. Too bad, all the pups have been reserved by Daddy's friends and 'Denis'.

Then our walk proper started! Woohooo!! Just as we reached the river and Mommy made us sit in a row and Stay till she walked about 20m away, another human came along... with a cocker spaniel puppy! That got us all distracted so we didn't Stay and started our doggy ass-sniffing greeting ritual.

The other human called the cocker spaniel 'Boy'. What a funny non-name! Wuffahaha.

I was kept really busy after that, following after 'Boy' to make sure I pee-ed on every spot he marked. Although 'Boy' is less than a year old, he is double my size and thus had a lot of pee. I had to squeeze out every last drop to reclaim all my territory along the river -- every tree and lamp post.

It was really quite hot, so we didn't continue all the way to the end of the river. We went back and sat at the bench below our flat. Mommy ate her chicken rice and drank her iced coffee. It was nice and windy, and we cooled down as Mommy had her little picnic.

That got us sticking around like loyal dogs! We got all the chicken skin, and Kobi ate up all the 'cum-cuber'. He's the only dog who eats veg in this family, but I don't have the heart to tell him that it's not very macho to be omnivorous. When Mommy was full, she even let us eat the leftover rice! That was great, really tasty with the chicken oil and all. I managed to gobble up the most coz Kobi was distracted by the little grains that fell out of the box. Ruff!

Funny Kobi. He found this bunch of creeping weeds growing next to the bench and started to busily chomp on them. Even when Mommy called him, he wouldn't budge as he was too focused on getting his roughage. He was quite the koala, picking only the newer, fresher green leaves. I don't know what strange weed this was, but it looked like mint leaves, but had a furry texture on the underside. Mommy plucked on for me which I chewed a little and dropped. Nah. Green foods do nothing for me -- unless we're talking about Greenies!!

While Kobi cleaned out the salad bar at leisure, Snowie and I sniffed around and entertained ourselves by checking out the funny people that passed by and every corner of the field. We don't get to come here for walks that often, so there were lots of new spots to sniff. Got to meet lots of new people, it being a public holiday. I got to meet a sweet girl human. I like girls with long hair, they just naturally catch my eye and make my tail waggy, I don't know why!

Woof! I wish Mommy didn't have to work. Then she can sit on the kitchen floor and play with us all day. The little furry things really like to play with her, Man-nyak and Sam especially like to be carried right close to her face. Woof!

Denis, meet Dennis ... and 'Girl'

Quick update, finally.

Mommy has started her at new job and she'd been ultra busy during her last month, serving out her notice, at her last job. So we haven't been given time at the computer for ages. But every day, Mommy reads Sam's blog to update us on how he's doing. (Incidentally, Sam, the little furball we have here, is Mom's new fav puppy, coz he's the smartest [he recognises his own name] and the fattest and cutest. Grrr. I hate competition, big or small.)

Today, Mommy and Daddy took two of the little furry rascals out... was it for a WALK WALK?? I was quite upset that they got to go out without me, and needless to say, we raised quite a ruckus, the 5 of us left in the kitchen.

Later, when Mommy and Daddy came back up, Snowie was really relieved to see that they brought the two little furballs back -- in a plastic bag! Like they'd just been bought in the market.

My investigations (sniffing them and letting the little furballs whisper in their puppy talk) turned up the following information:

1. They'd had an adventure at the void deck. Their first time out of the house since they went to get their tails docked.

2. I could smell the scent of a few strangers on them, and on the girl puppy, the scent I recall and attribute to 'Denis', the fella who'd wanted to buy Cookie a year ago. And one other scent on the puppy Mom calls Dennis.
Also, the scent of the coffee selling aunty on the girl puppy -- she must have carried or petted girl puppy when Mom bought coffee -- as well as a faint scent of a Mini Pinscher!! What!! Did they go to play with other dogs?

3. Two furballs told me: 'Denis' and another fella had played with them. The puppy called Dennis said he'd napped in the stranger's lap while 'Denis' played with girl puppy.

4. Upon further investigation, I discovered a weird fact: Dennis and girl puppy will be sold to 'Denis' in two weeks. Yay! Then they'd stop trying to come into my crate when I'm sleeping. Really tired of sharing my rug and the toilet-newspaper with these little furry rascals. And they still haven't gotten it into their heads yet that I like to sleep in on mornings, and noisy playtime shouldn't begin at 7am. Grrrr...
