Update: Dank

Hello from Dank!
He's a happy lil doggie with his new Daddy, Denis, now. Lots of attention lavished on him, and when he's alone, he occupies himself playing with one of his 592 toys.

Missing duck found

Kobi has noticed that many a chew toy has gone missing over Kobi's short 1.5 years. First, Poppy's favourite banana man lost his feet, then disappeared for good. Then, Poppy's second favourite Mr Worm lost his face, then disappeared. A few Pokey Balls have also gone MIA, not to mention several chewy bones, but those, Kobi knows vanish into the Black Hole that's occupying the space under the fridge. We have one toy left. Yellow Porcupine. But it hasn't been much of a fun toy anymore after we swallowed its vocal cords, the ones that make it go Qweeeeeeeeeeeee.

Rubber Duck Removed from Dog After 5 Years
Tue Apr 19, 2005 8:50 AM ET
STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A rubber duck sat in a dog's stomach for five years before being removed by Swedish vets last week, a local newspaper said Tuesday.

The owner of the Apollo the Boxer dog assumed the toy had dissolved in his stomach over the years as it had not come out any other way, Daily paper Lanstidningen said.

But the owner, from the northern Swedish town of Ostersund, took the animal to a vet when it began vomiting and refused to drink and the toy was removed.

The duck had turned black and gone rock hard the newspaper said on its Web Site, showing a photograph of the toy.

And then there were 3

It's back to the three of us now -- Me, Snowie and Kobi the Wrascal.

On Wednesday, Man-nyak was sold to the coffee-selling aunty. She had a choice between Sam and Man-nyak, but chose Man-nyak -- maybe coz he's fatter! She's also quite plump herself, and so is her young son, who loves to go topless at the hawker centre while he plays and amuses himself. Her hubby is quite skinny though. All of them love Man-nyak very much and were so proud of him, showing him off to the other stall-holders and patrons at the hawker centre. They've renamed him Joe-Joe.

On Thursday, Daddy gave Girl to his friend Gerald, whose daughter Geraldine (rufahahah) renamed her JJ.

On Friday, Mommy and Daddy sold Sam to David, who stays at the next block. David and all his colleagues and his girlfriend all gathered for the Great Welcome. They have been very excited about buying Sam, and prepared his bed and toys beforehand. They even had a group outing to shop for Sam, buying him a little FBI t-shirt too! They renamed him Brew, after their company name, Breworks. They do web design. Maybe Brew will be their company mascot!

Fare thee well, Sam!

Sam was Mommy's favourite puppy. Man-nyak was a very very close second. Because they were so cute and fat and clever and funny and loving and etc and etc...

Sam always came bounding to Mommy, wagging his teeny weeny tail and clambering to be hugged and carried. Always trying to jump into Mommy's lap.

::220405:: Poorie Sam. He was so sad to see his sibling-playmates disappear one after another in the past two days. Little did he know that Mommy was hugging him extra much today because it was his turn to leave the fold today!

Fare thee well, Man-nyak!

Mommy and Daddy finally had to sell Man-nyak. He's old enough, and properly paper-trained.

::190405:: But I'm so cute! See?

::190405:: A kiss to tempt you to keep me? Yes? Yes? WHY NOOO??? Mommmmmmy! Keep Man-nyak please!!
Posted by Hello

::190405:: Doh! I can't believe you can bear to sell me!

::190405:: Ok, Mommy, then Man-nyak will kiss you goodbye! *sniff*

Paws For Effect

Kobi discovered something today. It's the first time Kobi has seen it, but Mommy has known since the furry little ones had their tails docked and dewpaws cruelly snipped off. It's kinda freaky...

Here, Kobi hits the "paws" button, for effect.

...

...

...

...

...

Girl/Pebbles the Returned Puppy has an extra claw!! *Kobi shudders*

It grows right between her two outer toes on her front left paw. It's like a normal nail, but it grows out of the 'webbing' between a normal dog's toes.

Kobi knows coz Kobi saw Mommy trimming the ends of the nail, which has grown into the paw padding of Girl/Pebble's poor footie, almost dividing the little pad into two sections. Kobi will try to get Kobi's paws on Mommy's new camera when she's not looking and take a photo, if only Girl/Pebble would just stay still.

Maybe Mommy should send the furry girl pup to the vet to get that scary extra claw taken out for good? Reow!!

The Return of 'Ira'

Today, the man called 'Denis' returned Snowie's baby girl, whom he named Ira.

Hmm. This is the second time he's returned Snowie's babies -- both times girls!! He told Mommy that he couldn't cope with two dogs. He also took Dennis, whom he has now named Dank.

Daddy was angry with 'Denis' and told Mommy to return the money he paid and take back both Snowie's pups. But Mommy says 'Denis' has made lots of effort, and maybe it's better for 'Denis' to keep just one dog if he can cope better. More love for the dog then!

Still, Mommy is worried that Dennis/Dank will not have company and be a very bored and untrained and naughty dog (the way Poppy was -- up to no good and ignoring all attempts at toilet training and pooping just behind the main door so the poop would be spread in a wide arc when the door was opened [ha ha Snowie has heard the tales!] -- before Snowie came along and taught him a thing or two) without Girl/Pebbles/Ira's company.

Dank is still so young. If she had been selling 'Denis' just one dog, she would have waited till Dank were 3 months old at least, then he'd be properly socialised and also more independent.

Should Mommy ask 'Denis' to return Dank for fostering till he's 'of age' first? Snowie thinks so! Ruff!!

Mommy was quite miffed that 'Denis' treated Snowie's precious puppies like merchandise -- there's NO Return & Exchange Counter in the world of pets dude!

However, Mommy has seen the pictures of Dank and Girl/Pebbles/Ira's new home. It's not that 'Denis' doesn't love them or make the effort. In fact, as the pictures will show you, he has spent a lot of money and effort to make a really nice new home for them. Check them out at http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/gallery/view_album.php?page=1&piuid=denismok

The original tiny playpen. Toooooo tiny, Dennis! No wonder the pups went crazy.

Pups sleeping in their new crate. Dank is the one with the head pointing skywards. Isn't he the cutest? Ruff!

The playpen's nice and big now, rightly so because RUFF! We are Jack Russells! We need space to run and jump and roll around. And at least the toilet newspaper isn't so close to their sleeping quarters now!

How about a nice playrug outside the dogbed so Dank doesn't have to lie on the cold floor? ;)

And maybe our waterdish can be moved further from the toilet?

Hope 'Denis' lets Dank out whenever he's home... And brings him on nice long walks to exercise and expend his energy too, once he gets all his shots.

Snowie also hopes that Dank doesn't chew up his beautiful comfy-looking spongy dogbed! Snowie knows that if Mommy gave us doggies one or two or three, those beds would be cloth and filling all over the kitchen floor by the end of the night! Ruff!

Who's gonna be Dank's sleeping buddy now?
